We had an amazing experience working with Zach Kirby to sell our house. He was so organized in preparing our house to sell. After our initial phone interview, we met at the house on a Friday. He then scheduled a complete cleaning the next Tuesday (which he paid for), a photographer for Wednesday and listed the house that Thursday! Zach really knows his market and priced the house higher than we had hoped. Zach is also a master negotiator…after a lowball offer, he was able to get ASKING price with a few concessions to the buyer so that they felt like they got a great deal. We were under contract in 4 days! And his service didn’t end there…he stayed in communication, met multiple inspectors and appraisers at the house so that all we had to do was show up at closing. About Zach Kirby
Hello! My name is Zach Kirby and I would love to assist you with any and all of your real estate needs. Being a ‘born and bred’ Midlands native I have an extensive background in most of the communities in and around our states capital city, including Lexington, Chapin, Irmo, Lake Murray, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, and downtown Columbia.Born in Columbia but raised in Chapin, I have spent my entire life in and around the Midlands of South Carolina. The majority of my life experiences that have prepared me for my career in real estate came from working alongside my parents, who owned and operated an automotive repair business in Irmo for 38 years. Our family business was built on the principle that “people matter more than profit margins.” My first and only goal, in every transaction, is to meet the needs of my clients by serving them with honesty, respect, and integrity.
I started my career in real estate in 2013 when I began working in property management and apartment leasing during my time at the University of South Carolina. After graduating with my bachelors degree in 2016, I took a job as a middle school history teacher and ended up working for both the LexRich5 and the Lex2 school districts. I LOVED my time in the classroom but came to realize pretty quickly that I was called to serve others in the home buying/selling process. I obtained my real estate license in July of 2017 and, after teaching for two more years, left the classroom to become a full time real estate agent in June of 2019.
Surprisingly, the tools that I acquired from teaching have transferred well into the real estate world. A large majority of my job in real estate involves educating my clients through the home buying, selling, or investing process.
My ‘typical clients’ look a lot like young professionals looking to buy their first home; a young married couple looking to buy or sell their first home as they expand their family; military families who are looking to utilize their VA benefits to buy in and around Columbia; parents looking to invest in downtown Columbia real estate as they prepare to send their children to college; or families looking to take advantage of beautiful Lake Murray by buying a home on the water.
When I’m not working, you can find me serving my local community through my involvement at my church, Midtown Fellowship Church. I have been a member of Midtown since 2013. With our Serve the City initiative, I enjoy giving back to our community through our work with Ezekiel Ministries, Epworth Children’s Home, Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, Transitions (a local homeless ministry), and Home Work’s of America.
